Positioning digital out-of-home as useful urban infrastructure
Forbes México presented Mario López's vision for Hegemedia: digital installations that orient, inform and improve urban spaces before serving as media for brands.

01 · The challenge
Escape the commodity language of outdoor media
Outdoor advertising is easily reduced to screens, impressions and prime locations. Hegemedia needed to distinguish its work in airports, shopping centers and urban corridors as a design-and-infrastructure discipline, especially as attention fragments and public spaces become more technologically demanding.
02 · The positioning
Put urban usefulness at the center
The narrative places utility before advertising. Interactive displays and dynamic wayfinding become part of architecture and pedestrian flow; brand communication follows from that usefulness. López is positioned as an advocate for DOOH systems where technology, design and function operate together.
03 · The result
Open a place in the smart-city conversation
The feature moved Hegemedia beyond the signage category and into the smart-city conversation. That framing gives commercial partners a clearer reason to see installations as long-term urban touchpoints rather than interchangeable media inventory.
What this placement demonstrates
DOOH connected to architecture and human movement
Clear distinction from conventional outdoor advertising
Executive point of view built around useful infrastructure
